Brits replacing th sound with v, b, f is a relatively new thing. To be honest, it makes me cringe. When I hear obviously educated Brits "choose" to do that it is just lazy speech. Schools should have beaten that out of you all years ago. When Tony Blair opened up immigration, that is when it started...I guess the early 90's. It used to be very common for Brits to pay a lot to give their kids elocution lessons so they spoke proper educated RP. It denoted your class and education level and opened up job opportunities. In the southern US, in the 30's through the 60's when schools weren't integrated, African-American teachers had beautiful diction and insisted their students speak like that. During that time period, many black southerners had beautiful diction...better than most white people. It's why Morgan Freeman, Martin Luther King, Maya Angelou, Oprah, Samuel L Jackson, etc. have beautiful and dynamic speech patterns. I don't think teachers correct speech now. It's a shame. My grown children have lovely southern accents but have learned to code switch. My son has worked for three international companies and has been designated the person to run all international zoom meetings...at all European employees and clients' request. He has a southern cadence and they can understand his English and have time to translate in their head without missing out on the message. Northerners speak way too fast for them. Only when he is relaxed or tired does his southern idioms pop out much to the amusement of co-workers and clients that forget he is southern. "I'm fixin to go to lunch" is a prime example. They will then rib him about that for several days.

Sales tax is levied by each state. Many states do not tax groceries. However, nit everything in a market that you might think is a grocery item is tax exempt. In PA, groceries are tax exempt, but does not include prepared food (think hot bar near the deli) or carbonated drinks (soda, pop, coke).

I have seen both diamond back rattlesnakes and copperheads, I have been bitten by a black widow spider and ticks (which are everywhere), I hear coyotes and wolves at night. Bobcats, bear, and cougars are all animals you often see on a trailcam. But I once saw a wolverine and that is the scariest thing I have ever encountered. Also lived in AZ - LOTS of scorpions and FL - alligator in my backyard.

In the US: •In older 1700-1900 buildings things like a/c, maybe electricity, maybe indoor plumbing, maybe heating need to be added since those things were either not in any buildings or not in some buildings. I don't think everything is a bargain there. We purchase the items we use a lot of, things we don't want to buy every week, but we use often. I think our membership is around $90 a year. Mybson and I are the authorized buyers. Costco's Kirkland brand is exceptional. Once you try that brand, it's your favorite--everything from food, wine to household goods. Their bakery is amazing! Their cakes are fantastic, but pricey, because they're big. Even thrir macaroons were fantastic! I'd never had any, but they were $15 for a large box, and thats a fantastic price for that cookie.

A regular cheesesteak can run you $10-$15. If you paying more than that, you are paying too much. A reg size is usually 10" to 12" long. Making a cheesesteak is not hard. The problem is the roll. A baguette is not the same even tho it looks the same.

The flat top grills make the world of difference. Most have been seasoned for year's. It's very hard to replicate at home

We tip in the United States because we pay our tipped staff less than we pay anyone else. They make about half of our minimum wage. The customer is expected to tip to make up the rest of that. Love the reaction. Here's my big take away. Things cost differently based on popularity and availability. As to the difference in your bill (or mine) the biggest difference is meat. After watching this I pulled out my grocery receipt from this morning that was just shy of $100. 58 of that was meat. Keep in mind however that $58 will last me 5-6 weeks

I had a boss who used to dictate letters to me. He was a Texan with a very heavy accent. One day he dictated a letter to me & I really couldn't understand what he was saying. I usually could get most of what he said by context ... but not this time. I asked him a dew times what it was & he just kept repeating the words ... 'Serval alls'. I just couldn't think of what it could be. I was fairly new on the job and was really worried that I would get in trouble for not being able to understand it enough to type up the letter. Finally, after he was all done dictating, he handed me a newspaper article on it. He had been saying .. . 'several owls'! 😂😂

Unfortunately we are being invaded as we speak. It has taken awhile, but slowly and deliberately through our education system and other government bureaucracys our citizens have been dumbed down and conditioned into allowing our elected offices to be taken over by socialists who have in turn guided our policies in such a direction as to allow our Representative Republic to become a second rate democracy with fewer checks and balances. I blame our overall trust in the government since WW2. We’ve naively allowed our government to operate unchecked for so long that now it truly can do whatever it wants, despite our beloved Constitution. Now every time we elect a president with socialist leanings we suddenly begin to have all sorts of crisis. Boarder issues, getting involved in unrest in other countries, economic issues, inflation, our citizens become more polarized about social and political issues, crime in our cities increase, and on and on! All because they need to control us in order to increase their power. And the best way to do that is through fear. One such socialist leader from Chicago once said “you never want to let a serious crisis to go to waste.” The phrase is attributed to Churchill, but has since been high jacked by the likes of Saul Alinsky and the aforementioned socialist leader Rahm Emanuel. So anyway I agree with this video as presented, but that’s not how America’s enemies are attacking.
